SCVFD Receives New Little Giant Ladder Through Grant

The Sharps Chapel Volunteer Fire Department recently received a grant from the Little Giant Ladder Company. The department was able to obtain a new Overhaul Ladder that will be carried on one of the fire engines. The ladder is valued at over $1,000.00. SCVFD is the first fire department in this area to have one of these new ladders.

This new ladder complies with NFPA Standards and counts for ISO points for the department.

The Little Giant Ladder Company recently started making ladders for the fire service and this new ladder has many capabilities that will assist firefighters on emergency scenes. This ladder has many features that other ladders do not have with several adjustments that help firefighters do their jobs safer. This ladder also has night time glowing rungs, tip and guide wheels and roof and rafter hooks.

Chief Chris Upton said he would like to thank the Little Giant Ladder Company and member Dustin Ray of the SCVFD for their assistance in receiving this much needed and appreciated new piece of equipment for the department.
