Sharps Chapel VFD was dispatched to a residential fire on Lakeview Circle on Saturday, April 22, 2017 around 3:30 PM. Sharps Chapel Engine 51, Engine 52, and Engine 53 all responded (Engine 53 responded to its first structure assignment in Sharps Chapel). Engine 51 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire and nearby neighbors had already entered the home with a water hose prior to SCVFD’s arrival. Fire crews made an interior attack into the home to finish extinguishing the fire. The fire was contained to the wall of origin and appeared to start around an electrical outlet. No injuries were reported. Northeast Union VFD and Maynardville FD responded mutual aid but was cancelled before they arrived on scene. Thanks for the assistance!
