Sharps Chapel Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a smoke investigation call on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, around 4:00 PM on Walker Road. Engine 51 and Engine 52 responded to the scene. While in route to investigate, dispatch advised the crews that they received another call and confirmed a home was on fire. When Engine 51 arrived on scene, flames were already coming through the roof. Firefighters battled the blaze to get the fire under control. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. We would like to thank units from Northeast Union VFD, Paulette VFD, Maynardville VFD, and Luttrell VFD for providing manpower and assisting with water supply.
